An Introduction to this HTML Video TutorialWorking with this tutorialI recommend you start with the first lesson of course and then walk your way through the lessons in the order they are presented. In the first few lessons you will learn all the important HTML elements you need to know and then you will learn how to put all the pieces together and design your website layout. Finally, you will also learn how to register a name for your website, create logos and buttons and also how to publish your website to the world wide web. The quickest way to get used to writing HTML code is by doing it. Therefore, you should not just run through this tutorial, reading the text and watching the videos, but also take immediate action on the things you learn and experiment with the different HTML elements. There are many HTML code examples inside the lessons. Each code snippet is displayed in a box that stands out from the rest of the page and the link above the box shows you in a new browser window how the code is displayed in a browser. You can work with these HTML code snippets by simply copying them from the tutorial and pasting them into your own HTML documents. About the videosThe videos are produced as "macromedia flash (swf) movies". I have chosen this format as it plays in the browsers of PCs, MACs and Linux computers and it also creates high quality videos with relatively small file sizes. The videos are in the size of 800 x 600 pixels, but they are best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher, because they play in your browser and the browser window also takes up a little bit of space on your screen. Each video has advanced playback controls at the bottom. You can pause a video
and resume at any time or click on any point inside the storyboard (the black bar - see
screenshot below) to start from there. To start with the first lesson, click the "NEXT" button. |
